Business Breakfast with Cambridge University on 25th April
The next Business Breakfast will take place at Parkside in room 12 on Wednesday 25th April. Nicola Buckley, Head of Public Engagement at the University of Cambridge, will be talking to students and parents about the vast array of jobs available at the University and the qualities the University looks for in job applicants. Coffee and pastries will be served from 0800 and the presentation will start at 0815; there will be opportunities to ask questions and the session should finish by 0845, allowing parents to attend Progress Consultations if necessary. This is a great chance to find out more about the University so we really hope you can attend. The session will be repeated at Coleridge later in the term. Please see the downloadable below for further details.
Year 10 Work Experience
Year 10 students on work experience in May will receive instructions in their Core Humanities lessons next week about confirming their placements with their employers. These instructions will include a job description and a contract.
Please note it is now too late to submit a Student Own Placement form. Year 10 students not on work experience will be doing a work-related CAS activity from 29/5 to 1/6.
Parent Governor Election
A Notice of Poll will be published on Monday 23rd April on the Federation's website. PTA
We would like to thank everyone who supported us at the recent Easter Egg Bingo night. It was great fun with all tables winning at least one prize. Our thanks to Kay Blayney who was an excellent bingo caller and to all the local businesses for their support and generosity.
Future events include a casual get together for years 7 and 8 at the end of April giving them the opportunity to meet each other in an informal environment. An event for years 9 and 10 will be arranged for the summer. There will also be a Wine Tasting event for staff and parents sometime next term. We will keep you posted.
Second hand uniform sales continue to take place every first Wednesday of the month and we take this opportunity to thank you for all donations received.
Finally, our next meeting takes place this evening at Coleridge campus from 7pm and you are warmly invited to attend.
