World Book Day
This year is the 20th anniversary of World Book Day and at Trumpington Community College they have been celebrating for the first time in the new building.
World Book day is a fantastic opportunity for students to celebrate what they are reading and share their favourite books with each other. The TCC students wrote book reviews as a recommendation for others which created a wall display in the main hall. It was great to see students reading each other’s work during break and lunch. The English student leaders not only organise assemblies for the whole school to tell them of why we celebrate World Book Day, but they also ran a book stall to raise money for Book Aid International.
Students completed a quiz during form time to guess the staff’ favourite books. All staff also dressed up for the day and students had great fun trying to guess who they all were. There were many characters, from Hagrid to Lady Macbeth.
